MAN: I would never admit it, but I was a professed Money Market Rate shopper. I played the numbers. I would be waiting at the newspaper at 5 a.m. for the first issue off the press. I just had to know who was paying a higher rate that day. Then I would close my account at one bank and open it at another. The next morning it would start all over again. Day after day. Week after week. I was known at every bank in town. Then one day it happened: this ad from Citibank staring me in the face with a higher Money Market rate than the other big guys in Arizona. So I rushed over and opened an account. And I kept waiting and watching and checking and looking, but Citibank's rate stayed higher. And finally, it dawned on me. I didn't have to rate shop anymore.
ANNCR: Citibank is now paying 7.25% on Insured Market Rate Accounts for $10,000 or more. Rates subject to change. Member FDIC.
MAN: I even get to sleep in like other people now.
